Slip and Bulkhead Problems, Continued
Our boat slip is not the only thing that had problems. The bulkhead at the end of the canal started collapsing,
as did several other sections of bulkhead around the development ... and actually in other developments all
around the lake as well.
This first picture shows our slip after the repairs had been completed.
This next shot here shows the bulkhead at the east end of our lot and all the way across the end of the canal being
rebuilt. It had only failed in a couple of spots but they decided to just tear the whole thing down while the
water was low and rebuild it. Fortunately for us, all of that work was paid for by the developer.
Here you can see that, after they finished repairing our
slip, I got back to work applying more sealer-stain. Got the slip finished and started on the last section of rails
and pickets.
Also, you can see in this shot that the bulkhead repairs have been completed. Or, so it seems!
Actually, they didn't quite get everything done that needed to be done, such as completely backfilling with
dirt and
repairing the concrete trough which drains water down the hill into the canal. (see picture a couple of pages
later)
