Well, it's been a while since I updated this so here are some pictures to show what's been going on. First, a couple of shots of the fireplace. The first one shows the finished stone work, complete with "love bugs" on the mantel. The love bugs have been swarming this month - there must be billions of those things flying around. Anyway, this shot was taken on 9/13 after the walls had been textured but before painting.



The next shot of the fireplace was taken today (9/17) and shows that the walls have been painted at this point. I took some more interior shots of the ceiling and walls but they turned out kind of dark so I didn't include them.



This next shot shows that Robert and helper were applying the stain to the cedar siding today. Most of the west and rear sides of the house (except for the second floor) already have the two coats of stain.



Here is a close up near the back door to better see what the siding will look like with the stain applied.
