Here it is Thanksgiving eve and the rains have finally stopped. I went up to the lake again today after driving up there on Monday to take a dining set that we had bought for the lake house. However, you won't see that in any of today's pictures because it's stored in one of the bedrooms. I thought that, since they're still doing some work in the rest of the house, it might be best to put the table, chairs and bar stools in the bedroom to get them out of harm's way and away from all the dust and dirt.

I took quite a few pictures today and decided to post them in two groups of 4 each. Here is the first group.

As I said, the rains finally stopped after several days of downpours. The lake had been down over two feet because of the unusually dry summer this year but, at least for now, it's back up to normal and maybe even a little higher than normal. More on that in later pictures but first here's a shot of the kitchen showing that the cabinets are all done except for a plate rack that will be installed into the corner cabinet.



This next picture shows a couple of things about the bar. First, Larry has finished putting stone at the end of the bar. This is the same style stone that was used on the fireplace and chimney. Next, the outside face of the bar has been covered with a piece of rough, stained wood that has grooves to give it the look of individual boards. The cut out near the wall will be a storage area and will be covered with a door that will blend right in since it was cut from the same piece of wood.



Next are a couple of shots of the stair rails which are pretty much finished now.



This second shot of the rails looks up toward the loft. There is still some minor touch up to be done where the sheetrock meets the loft rail baseboard.
