Roof Trusses
I went up to the lake today (Tuesday, July 13, 2004) to check on progress. The
first picture was taken from the back of the house, facing southeast. As you can see, the roof trusses are
up. What you can't see yet is that there will
be a 6-foot deck down the west side and the deck will extend along the back of the house just past the back
door.
The next picture was taken from the opposite corner, facing northwest. Although the east side of the house
will not have a deck, there will be an 8-foot deck across the front. Other items of note in this picture are
the roof overhang (which will extend over the deck) and the cutout for the fireplace on the front near the
right side.
The third picture shows the future location of the stairs leading to the loft - where the long boards are leaning
against the second floor trusses.
And the last shot was taken from across the channel. On the west side of the house the roof will have an
extension to cover the deck - similar to the roof on the house in the background. Also in this shot you can
see that there will be lots of windows on the front which will give good views from both the ground floor and
the loft.
