Windows, Fireplace, Etc.
Went up to the lake today to deliver (to Rick) the mortgage company check
for the first draw - which was over 2 weeks late! Took a bunch of pictures and picked out these four
to put on the web site.
The first shot shows that the first floor windows on the back and west sides have been installed. Also, the
loft window has been framed out. That window, as well as the front side loft windows are on site and
should be installed shortly.
The next picture shows that the loft bathroom has been framed. The triangular spaces on the left and
and right sides will be storage areas. The left side storage area will be smaller since most of the
space will be taken by the heating-A/C unit. The bath and storage area on the left will, of course,
be covered with drywall, as will the storage area on the right. The rest of the loft will be open to
the floor below - except for a rail that may or may not connect with the stair rail ... I'm not sure.
The next shot shows the first floor windows on the east and lake sides are all in place except for the
small bathroom window. That window and the lakeside loft windows are on site and ready to be installed.
This shot also shows that the fireplace and chimney have been framed and are ready to have the stone
applied. This should happen in the next few days. As soon as the stone work on the upper
part of the chimney is finished, then the shingles can be put on.
The last picture was taken from the road on the other side of the channel behind our house. As you can
see, the damage
to the bulkhead which occurred back during the heavy rains in June has been repaired. The crews are now
working on a boat slip for the lot just to the right of the house on the far left. Also, note the power
pole just to the right of that house. This is temporary and will be removed after all the underground
transformers and power lines are in place on our street.
